Flickr & Yelp Photo Upload Party
“A picture is worth a thousand words.”
Background:
Sharing a photo online is one of the easiest ways to create valuable web content.
Various types of travel and destination related web searches are prominently displaying images as results. Take a look at the search results for “Corvallis” on Google for example.
By sharing photos of Corvallis we can increase the visibility of our community and make sure that web searches related to Corvallis offer photos that properly do justice to all of the wonderful things about our home.

Everyone is welcome to come to the Intersector Workspace on Friday, May 28 between 4-6 PM to receive personal help with anything related to online photo sharing, compliments of #CorvSMB.
Objectives:
- Eliminate voids online for photos related to Corvallis
- Make the best Corvallis has to offer visually available on the web
- Increase Corvallis’ online presence through consolidation and proper tagging
- Encourage people to share photos online and help them do it as easily and effectively as possible.
What to do:
- Upload your photos of Corvallis businesses appropriately to Yelp.com.
- Add the #CorvSMB tag to the end of your photo captions on Yelp.
- Upload your photos of Corvallis to the public Flickr group “Corvallis Photographs” at http://www.flickr.com/groups/corvallis-photos/.
- Tag your Flickr photos with Corvallis, #CorvSMB and other tags relevant to the subject matter in the photo.
Notes:
- The Flickr group “Corvallis Photos” currently has 134 members and almost 2000 photos.
- http://www.panoramio.com is currently serving photos to Google Earth which are also prominently displayed by Google for certain searches.
